Getting there
WEDDING VENUE - SLANE CASTLE

NEAREST AIRPORT - DUBLIN AIRPORT (DUB)
Roughly a 40-minute drive / taxi from the castle.
DISTANCE FROM DUBLIN CITY CENTER - 60 km / 37 miles north
Subject to interest, we would like to offer a shuttle on the wedding day for those staying in Dublin City Center. Be aware that it’s a roughly 45 minute journey if you decide to go that route. Please reach out to us directly if this is of interest to you.
IMPORTANT NOTE - Getting Ubers/ride shares back from the castle late at night can be a little tricky and unreliable. We plan on going LATE on Saturday so please plan accordingly. We suggest booking a cab ahead of time with Micky Dillon’s (+353 87 214 3088) unless you’re taking advantage of the shuttle back to the Hampton by Hilton in Dublin City Center.
CAR RENTALS / TAXIS
Uber - We all know it. We bow to their global domination.
FreeNow - Lyft is not available in Ireland but they do own this, the “#1 taxi app in Ireland”.
Bolt - Another taxi app with a large presence throughout Europe. Maybe you’ll get a new member discount? Tell them Billy sent you.
Micky Dillon’s - As mentioned above, late night cabs back from the castle can be tricky. If you’re in need, reach out at (+353) 87 214 3088.
GoCar - For those that wish to drive themselves for the day, GoCar is basically ZipCar in Ireland. Otherwise, all of your standard car rental agencies are available at Dublin Airport. Parking will be available at the castle outside of Slane Distillery.
If you’re planning on drinking with us, please steer clear of driving yourself. We will take your keys and throw them in the River Boyne.
Dublin
Ever heard of it? It’s the place Americans go to get drunk every March and let me tell you, the Irish really “love” when you do that.
If you’re staying for an extended period of time, we certainly recommend calling Dublin home because it has everything you could possibly want. Good food, great music at every turn, and a big Spike for some reason? Cool though…
Room Block (Thu - Sun)
LOCATION - HAMPTON BY HILTON, DUBLIN CITY CENTRE
DEADLINE - WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17TH 2026
We have an allocation of rooms in Dublin at the HAMPTON BY HILTON, DUBLIN CITY CENTRE. As I type this, I am getting the link to our personal reservation link and will post it here as soon as I have it.
As mentioned in the Getting There section, we’re hoping to set up some sort of roundtrip shuttle from the hotel and will keep you informed.
Drogheda
(DRAW-hed-ah) for everyone that’s about to butcher the name of this lovely town in County Louth. The nearest big town to the castle with more hotel options, about 10-15 minutes away from the castle. We do not have a room block here because the hotels options aren’t quite as big but there are options to be found. Got a pub with a pretty sweet name too.
Slane Village and Nearby
Slane itself is a small village north of Dublin with a population of under 2,000 people. There aren’t a ton of options in the immediate vicinity but there are a few bed and breakfasts and AirBnB / Vrbo options in the area.
Slane Farm Hostel & Cottages
Sadly the the nearby glamping options are not available that weekend but the castle staff did mention SLANE FARM which may be an option if you act fast! Not a ton of rooms but a cute and cozy option a stone’s throw away if you want to be local to the castle.
Navan
Similar to Drogheda, Navan is about 15 minutes away just in the opposite direction. The largest town in County Meath has hotels such as the Ardboyne, Newgrange, and Boyne Valley Hotel as well as various apartments and rental options on AirBnB, Vrbo etc.
